Gluten Free Travel Snacks

Gluten Free Travel Snacks to Pack on Your Next Trip

One of the best things about travel is trying new foods. I've discovered with Celica's that larger cities tend to have more gluten free options than smaller cities and towns. To be on the safe side, I pack gluten free travel snacks with me so I'll always be ready! Here's a list of some tasty gluten free snacks to enjoy on on your next trip or at home.

Sweet Snacks

 1.  Soozy’s – Chocolate or Blue Berry Muffins

These cute muffins come individually packed or in a box of 4. You’ll find them in the gluten free frozen section at Whole Foods, HEB, or other grocery stores. My favorite are the chocolate muffins. I either let it thaw out for a while or remove all the wrapping and heat in the microwave for about 10-12 seconds. Not only are they gluten free, but Paleo as well.

2.  Hu Chocolate

If you enjoy dark chocolate, Hu Chocolate is a great brand for you to try. My favorite is the Almond Butter Puffed Quinoa Dark Chocolate Bar. This may be the priciest snack on the list but worth it. I find myself getting full after only a few squares of chocolate and save the rest for later. It’s certified gluten-free and is also Paleo. It took some time for me to adjust to dark chocolate from eating milk chocolate but I’m glad I can finally enjoy both. They have a variety of treats such as Hunks, cookies, and crackers.

3.  Simple Mills Honey Cinnamon Sweet Thins

I love the Simple Mills brand. You’ll see their brand a few times on this list. Their products are delicious and made without most of the common allergens like gluten, soy, or dairy. Check their site or the product ingredients on the box for more information. These Honey Cinnamon Sweet Thins are a favorite for my whole family. They come in a brownie flavor and chocolate mint as well. I choose this flavor when I’m wanting something lighter and love the honey cinnamon flavor.

4.  Simple Mills Dark Chocolate Almond Soft Bake Bars

These bars are great for eating on the go and come in several different flavors like Spiced Carrot Cake, Nutty Banana Bread and Peanut Chocolate Chip. I’ll sometime eat this as my breakfast with a smoothie or coffee when I’m in a rush.

5.  Haagen-Dazs – Swiss almond ice cream

This is a great simple treat to enjoy while watching Netflix at home or in your hotel. Although Hagen-Dazs has many flavors be sure to check the label as only a few are labeled gluten-free. You can find this flavor at almost any grocery store.

6. Katz Cinnamon Rolls

These are yum-my! They are found in the frozen food section in your local grocery store or online. They come in a pack of 4 small and cute cinnamon rolls. You can pop them in the microwave after removing the packaging and enjoy with a cup of coffee. Katz also offers Honey Buns and Coffee Buns.

7.  Fruits

Fruit is not only gluten-free but a healthier choice of snack. You can pack some grapes, grab a banana, or bring an apple with you. If you’re able to buy organic, that’s a healthier choice to buy. What’s wonderful is that you can grab fruit almost anywhere, even the airport.

8.  Simple Mills Crackers

They have a variety of cracker flavors: Original, Rosemary Sea Salt, Farmhouse Cheddar, Mediterranean Herb, Sun Dried Tomato and Basil, Cracked Black Pepper, Garlic & Herb, and more. Grab an individual box or a variety pack to share.

9. This Good Crip Company

These gluten-free snacks are amazing! They taste similar to pringles. The packaging makes them easier to take with you on your travels. This Good Crip Company also has packaging in a smaller travel sized can. My favorite is the Sour Crem and Onion. They also come in Outback BBQ, Aged Cheese Cheddar, Spicy Jalapeno and Sea Salt and Vinegar. They also have cheese balls.

 10.  Skinny Pop

This brand is labeled Certified Gluten-Free. It’s a great light snack to pack on the road with you and can be found at Target and most grocery stores.

 11.  Central Market White Cheddar Popcorn

This is the HEB/Central Market brand. If you’re in Texas you’ll be familiar with it and can purchase a bag in the chips’ aisle. This brand comes in a variety of popcorn flavors but only the White Cheddar and The Lighter Side of Popcorn (one of my other favorites), Olive Oil, and Sea Salt flavors are labeled gluten-free.

 12.  Kind Bars

Kind Bars have flavors that are gluten free, and some flavors that are low on the glycemic index. They come in a variety of flavors so check the ingredients on each one as some contain soy, nuts, and other possible allergens. My favorite is the Dark Chocolate Nuts and Sea Salt.  You can buy and individual bar or get them in a pack.

13.  NutsWalnuts, Pistachios, Pecans, Pumpkin Seeds, etc.

You can buy a small pack of the nuts of your choice usually in the bakery aisle of your local grocery store or grab a larger bag and prepack in Ziplock bags to take on your next road trip or vacation. I always look on the site or the product bag for a gluten free label.

14.  Peanut Butter

A great snack you can pack in your luggage and spread on veggies or gluten free crackers is Justin’s Classic Peanut Butter Spread. Grab the jar or you can easily carry the one-serving size pouch. They also Almond Butter and delicious peanut butter cups that are also easy to carry on your trips.
